Flamengo is the greatest football club in the Brazil!
Founded in 1895, originally as a rowing club, it was created by the local youth as a way to impress
the girls from the local upper class.

In 1911, a group of 10 disbanded players from Fluminense, another local football club,
decided to join flamengo. "Why Flamengo?" you might ask, Flamengo was choosen cuz
the captain of those 10 disbanded players (Alberto Borges) also rowed competitively for Flamengo!

In 1912 its first amateur match was played, a 16-2 against "Mangueira".
It is, to this day, the clubs largest victory margin.

The 1981 season is regarded as the most victorious season in Flamengos history, in this season
Flamengo was awarded with a:
First place finish at the Copa Libertadores, Campeonato Carioca
And a 3-0 Victory against Liverpool at the finals of the Intercontinental cup
All of that in the span of just 21 DAYS
(unfortunately, Flamengo lost the national competition that season)
